What is the aim of this review? The aim of this Cochrane Review was to evaluate the effect of different strategies to increase the number of children in low- and middle-income countries who are vaccinated to prevent infection by a disease. Researchers in Cochrane collected and analysed all relevant studies to answer this question and found 41 relevant studies. What are the main results of the review?

Hand hygiene for the prevention of infections in neonates
Can hand hygiene prevent infection in newborn babies? Key messages 1. Two percent chlorhexidine gluconate ((CHG) antiseptic detergent) probably reduces the risk of bacterial infections in neonates compared to alcohol hand sanitiser within the first 28 days of life. 2. There was not much difference in the undesirable effects of various hand hygiene interventions on the skin of caregivers.

Methylphenidate for children and adolescents with ADHD
Is methylphenidate an effective treatment for children and adolescents with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and does it cause unwanted effects? Key messages - Methylphenidate might reduce hyperactivity and impulsivity and might help children to concentrate. Methylphenidate might also help to improve general behaviour, but does not seem to affect quality of life.

Nigeria newborn and child-health national clinical practice guidelines: A landscape analysis
Worldwide, there has been progress towards the attainment of child-health targets of Sustainable Development Goal 3.2 – end preventable deaths of newborns and children under five years of age by 2030 – by aiming to reduce the neonatal mortality rates to at least 12 per 1000 live births and under-five mortality rates to at least 25 per 1000 live births. This progress has been suboptimal in sub-Saharan Africa with the risk of not achieving these targets.
